Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Description

Responsible for assuring all MEMS Vision products are of high quality and conform to the stated specifications.  This involves testing sensors from the production / calibration lines to implement proactive failure avoidance, and to determine the cause of defects when applicable.  Any product that fails in the field must also be carefully analyzed to determine the cause of failure, and the appropriate reports must be created in accordance with existing quality assurance procedures.  All incoming materials from MEMS Vision’s suppliers must also be inspected to ensure it meets the vendor’s specifications in form and function.

The quality assurance engineers must work with production technicians, to ensure all equipment is properly maintained and the established calibration procedures are followed, and with the systems design team to implement any necessary upgrades to the automated calibration systems that will improve the quality of the end product.

Academic Requirements

  • B. Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, with at least 5 years of technical experience

Technical Skills

  • Experience implementing quality assurance practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of proper calibration procedures in accordance with the appropriate standards (e.g., ISO / IEC 17025).
  • Knowledge of standards applicable to the microelectronics industry (e.g., JEDEC standards and stress tests).
  • Familiarity with standard test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.).
  • Knowledge of mixed-signal circuit testing practices.
  • Familiarity with Matlab (writing scripts, statistical analysis).
  • Experience with high volume microelectronics testing or sensor calibration is an asset.
  • Experience with environmental test chambers is an asset.

 Communication Skills

  • Excellent oral and written communications and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a team of engineers.
  • Ability to work independently and show initiative.
